No More Waiting: Abu Dhabi Launches Round-the-Clock Care at 12 Centres. iamge

In a major healthcare transformation, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced the rollout of 24-hour services across 12 primary care centres, marking a significant step toward improving round-the-clock medical access for residents in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Launched in partnership with SEHA Clinics, a subsidiary of PureHealth, the initiative introduces continuous healthcare availability, with selected centres also offering urgent care services. This strategic expansion is aimed at delivering faster, more efficient treatment while ensuring a patient-centric approach to care.

By enabling primary care centres to handle urgent medical cases, the initiative is set to ease the growing pressure on hospital emergency departments. Patients can now access timely medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions without the need to visit crowded emergency rooms, significantly improving convenience and overall healthcare experience.

Currently, centres in Mazyad and Sweihan are fully operational with 24/7 urgent care services. In addition, ten more centres — Al Hili, Al Aamerah, Al Hayer, Neima, Al Quaa, Al Bateen, Al Zafaranah, Al Bahia, Madinat Mohammed Bin Zayed, and Baniyas — have extended their working hours to operate round the clock. These facilities are preparing to introduce urgent care services in the second quarter of 2026 as part of a phased rollout plan.Dr Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of DoH, stated that expanding access to healthcare through continuous service availability represents a key milestone in building a more resilient and responsive healthcare system. She emphasized that accessible, timely care is fundamental to improving patient outcomes and enhancing quality of life across the community.

Rashed Al Qubaisi, Group Chief Operating Officer of PureHealth, highlighted that the expansion reflects SEHA Clinics’ commitment to delivering world-class, patient-focused healthcare services. The integration of urgent care capabilities further strengthens their mission to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the population. The initiative aligns with updated healthcare regulations and global best practices introduced in late 2025, ensuring improved service quality, safety standards, and seamless integration across the healthcare system.

Primary care centres continue to play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services, including disease management, vaccinations, mental health support, preventive care, and specialist coordination—supporting individuals and families at every stage of life.
