The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced the results of its comprehensive inspection and audit activities for 2025, highlighting a significant expansion in regulatory oversight across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The findings reflect the Department’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding public health, enhancing service quality, and ensuring that healthcare providers adhere to the highest standards of safety and patient care.

According to the report, the Department conducted a total of 4,540 licensing audit rounds throughout 2025, covering a wide spectrum of healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare providers. In addition, compliance audit rounds saw a remarkable increase of 31 percent, rising from 2,401 in 2024 to 3,485 in 2025. This growth demonstrates a clear shift toward more proactive monitoring and early identification of areas requiring improvement within the healthcare sector.

A major milestone achieved during this period was the successful completion of 100 percent audit coverage of all home healthcare providers. This achievement underscores the Department’s efforts to ensure that quality care is consistently delivered across all healthcare settings, not only within traditional facilities but also in home-based care environments where patient safety remains equally critical.
